Support CASA

Become a CASA volunteer

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a specially trained community volunteer who is appointed by a Family Court Judge to provide consistent and caring support on behalf of an innocent child going through the family court system due to abuse and/or neglect by parent(s) or guardian(s).

Become a Friend of CASA

CASA of Westmoreland, Inc. is in need of volunteers who may not have the time to be an advocate for a child, but who can help CASA in other ways. Many community members help CASA by assisting with fundraising events, office assistance, or use of other skills to further advance the program.

Host a CASA information / Orientation Meeting

You can help us spread the word about the CASA program by inviting a representative from CASA to speak at your next function. Contact us if you are interested in scheduling one of these events.

Adopt a Child's Future

CASA has established a program for you to "Adopt a Child's Future" by pledging and setting up an automatic monthly contribution through our systems.  Any monthly amount is accepted with a minimum of $10 per month.  Click here for more information.

Make a Financial Contribution

There are several ways that you can make a financial contribution to CASA that will help with recruiting, training, and supporting our advocates who work directly with abused and neglected children. You can choose any amount for your donation in support of abused and neglected children in Westmoreland County. Suggested amounts include:

  • $50 and under "Friend of CASA" donation

  • $100 - $500 "Patron of CASA" level

  • $500 - $1,000 "Hero of CASA" level

  • $1,000+ "Champion of CASA" level

  • You might also choose to sponsor a CASA child for one year with a donation of $1,200. All donations are greatly appreciated!

Donate Gas Cards

Gas Cards help our volunteers offset the cost of their advocacy for children. CASA volunteers are not reimbursed for their mileage, but this service assists volunteers who have to drive long distances.

Donate Gift Cards

When a CASA child is in need of items (school supplies, clothing, etc. ) CASAs want to help. However, CASA volunteers do not purchase gifts directly for the children on their case loads. Gift cards from various retailers will assist volunteers in making purchases to assist children in getting items that they need.

Plates with Purpose

Riverside Design Group and Plates With Purposeā„¢ feature a number of designer plates benefiting non profit organizations. CASAā€™s plate features two trees, one full-grown and the other a seedling, which immediately calls to mind the wonderful childrenā€™s book The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. The story, about the sacrifices a tree makes to help a young boy, is a fitting metaphor for the work of a CASA volunteer. The plate, which is made here in Western Pennsylvania from recycled glass, is shipped in recycled materials, is microwave and dishwasher safe, and is a beautiful representation of CASAā€™s work. Proceeds from the purchase of this plate directly benefit CASA of Westmoreland, Inc. to support our program in advocating for abused and neglected children in Westmoreland County.  Download Order Form or pay via Paypal, below. (Paypal orders have a flat rate of $10.50 for shipping.)
